Once again a contingent of C C C members competed in the Plouay week-end which starts with a cyclosportive on the Friday & ends with the Grand Prix West France on the Sunday. In addition to those two events there was a track meeting on the Friday evening & on the Saturday a Men's Elite under 23 race followed by a World Cup Women's Series race which for the second year running was won by GBR rider Emma Pooley, the current British Road Race Champion. Emma is pictured here (left) with JCA Youth Academy rider Sabine Minchington Gilley. |

It has been proposed that The Tony Richomme Memorial -
Round The Bays Road Race will be brought forward to 26 September

Many of you will already be aware that we need to have
qualified first aiders at our events. The club supports and
covers the costs of members training for this and there are
courses (run by ESC) taking place in early September and
late November. If you're interested in qualifying as a first
aider through the club, please contact Colin
Perry. |

The club is active in Children's Cycling, Youth Development, Mountain Biking, Time Trials, Circuit and Road Racing and there are events throughout the year. Some leisure events take place too, both in the island and in France. Riders are encouraged and financially supported when racing out of the island. From 23 April 2010, the CCC children's section transferred to the Jersey Cycling Assocation Youth Academy and all under 18s' events after this date will be organised by this new body.

New members are always welcome and it's easy to join in whatever your ability or ambitions. We meet year round each Saturday at La Mare, St Clement at 9am for the club run. From October to February we also have a Sunday club run starting outside Norman's in Commercial Buildings just down from the steam clock at 9.30 am. If you're interested in our club or cycling in Jersey just turn up at one of our events or email info@ccc.je and someone will get back to you (usually) within 24 hours. If you're unsure of how to start or have any concerns whatsoever, you may prefer to telephone; look on the contacts page for a list of friendly people who will be more than happy to help. |
