Cæsarean Cycling Club

The final round of the Vittel Water Winter Series for under 12’s mountain biking was held last Sunday.
The 5 years and under were once again run concurrently with the 6/7 year olds, this race had the largest field of the day. Adam trotter dominated the 5 and under class, leading from the start and was unchallenged throughout the race to take the win and the championship. Matthew Rayson continues to improve his riding skills and finished second, beating some older riders in the process.

The 6/7 year old class was hotly contested for the top 4 places. Joshua O’Donoghue-Rowe lead form the start followed by Samuel Coutanche, Charlie Hubert and Samuel Allix. The leader and was able to pull clear of the battle for second as places changed, Coutanche was having another good ride and pulled himself from 4th place at the end of lap one to second place on lap4. Allix was hanging onto Hubert but on the fifth lap they were unable to pass Coutanche who took second spot. Hubert took third and Allix fourth, which was enough to lift him to second in the championship.

Adam Le Cheminant lead the 8/9 class from the start and won the race easily, in doing so became the only rider to gain maximum points this season. Next season he will move up an age group and will be challenging the older riders. Steven Haley rode strongly for another safe second placing in the race and the championship against older riders. Matthew Coote came home in third, whilst newcomer Tom Saralis was 5th, this may encourage him to race a full series later in the year.
In an uneventful race championship winner in the 10/11 year old class was beaten by closest rival Rhys Hidrio. Robert Coutanche had an off day and only managed to gain second place with 2 laps remaining, which he held to the line, and Matthew White was third.

Following the event riders were presented their trophies and medals by Tim Hubert representing sponsor Vittel Water.
