The final race of the CCC Mountain bike summer series recently took place at Hamel's land in ideal conditions. Hard working club members had cut a varied and challenging course which included a 'bomb hole', switch backs through wooded sections and long demanding sections across open fields. The start saw familiar faces launch towards the front with Rhys Hidrio, Kieron Mills, and Michael Boarer leading the pack towards the first bend. In the Elite class, Mills made short work of claiming the lead and powering ahead of the pack. After the first lap Adam Wojtkiewicz, taking advantage of his increasing fitness after competing in a number of road races moved into 2 nd spot with Rhys Hidrio in solid 3 rd . The ever consistent Ian Lelai moved steadily up to 4 th in class and 4 th overall and these were how the positions remained until the finish. A string of 4 victories had given Mills the class championship and he looks well set for the tough demands of the winter series coming up. In the Sport class, Lee Wells showed ever improving form with good pace throughout the race and 6 th place overall. In 2 nd place was Robert Coutanche, riding well throughout the race and 3 rd was Pawel Rejak. The class champion for this season was Krzysztof Jeromkin. The Ladies class was valiantly represented by Janet Gallichan and overall class champion was Caroline Davies. In the Schoolboys class Rory Hidrio took the class win and the championship. His brother Rhys may need to watch out!

The Veterans class was set to be an exciting battle between the in form Simon Stead, Colin Malzard and Boarer. In the end Stead, on a brand new bike, was the clear winner, Malzard settling for 2 nd and taking the class championship and Andy Parslow in 3 rd . Boarer suffered a flat tyre and several collisions which finished his race. The riders are all looking forward to the winter series and to the increased challenges due to the return of Ian Cabot and the legendary Bruce Dingle. The Super-Vets class was well won by Richard Hillman riding strongly to the finish and taking 12 th overall with Chaz Knight in 2 nd place but taking overall victory in the championship. The Club would like to extend its thanks to the Hamels for the use of the land and grateful thanks to series sponsor Laurence de Gruchy. A special thanks to the Cæsarean Cycling Club and the key members who organised and enabled all the events to take place.
