The 8/9 year age group, with 17 boys and 7 girls again made up the largest class of the day. The start line was a mass of eager riders many of whom were chasing silverware in the tightly contested championships. In the boy’s class it was Luc Mon Petit Le Brun who set the early pace with a great start, he was set on a victory that would give him the top prize. But it was to be Jack Lutz’s year and after bidding his time he launched an attack against which Luc was unable to respond. An epic battle between two excellent riders. In 3rd place was Ben Le Rougetel with a solid performance and in 4th was Sam Maher who secured a well deserved 3rd place in the championship. In the girls class Emma McGinley was unassailable again taking a clean sweep of victories for the season with maximum points and the class championship. 2nd in class was the eager Bethan Hamon showing great potential for future seasons and in 3rd place was the hard working Sabine Minchinton Gilley getting her seasons reward with 2nd place in the championship.
The 12-14 and 10/11 year age groups were mixed as usual. George Milner characteristically launched into the lead with a fast sweeping line into the first bend but Ben Le Brocq kept him honest, not too far behind in 2nd. It stayed like this to the end with George taking the championship with an excellent clean sweep of wins, Ben in 2nd with Jason Banks working hard for 3rd in class and Championship.
In the 10/11 year age group the two Oliver’s, Lowthorpe and Oliver Turner were in the chase for victory and it was Oliver Lowthorpe who pushed hard throughout the race to take flag in class and championship with Oliver Turner and deserving 2nd.
