Perfect weather and superb track conditions greeted the 31 starters to the 5th race of the Caesarean Cycling Clubs Winter Mountain Bike series sponsored by the Cycle Centre.

Heading the field from the off was Simon Stead with Andy Hull close behind, who took Stead half way through the first lap, and made a gap on the chasing pack. Ian Lelai, worked hard and eventually was on the tail of Hull.

The cat and mouse chase was on, Hull snatching back the lead every time Lelai made a move. However on the last lap Ian Lelai moved into the lead having studied his opponents racing lines and made his lead stick to the finish taking overall win and Elite class.

Leading Vet Erik Le Brun moved past Rhys Hidrio for third place overall and was a safe class winner from Simon Stead.

With Andy Hull taking second overall and the Sport class that left Gary Osbourne in second from Krzystof Jeromkin.

Visiting Guernsey rider Gary Roberts had an enjoyable ride chasing Rhys Hidrio all the way to the line taking 5th overall and 3rd in the Elite class.

George Milner once again dominated the school boy class and finished 19th overall in the 1 hour and 15 minutes race just in front of lone Super vet David Bihet.

Helen Mon-Petit lead in the quartet of ladies for the win from the Caroline Davies who was making a return after injury.
