JCA Road Race Championship, Watersplash 11 August 2002

Senior Race 8 laps (60 miles) and Ladies/Vets/Juniors 6 laps (45 miles) of the Watersplash circuit, St. Ouen.

Chris Spence is the 2002 Island Road Race Champion. Chris made a early break on Jubilee Hill and only Ali Cann could hang on. The two were never threatened by the bunch and Chris easily took the sprint from Ali. Some four minutes down, Dave Jardine out sprinted Steve Grieg for third.

Colin Perry was a lone CCC rider at the competitive end of the Ladies/Vets/Juniors race and being out numbered had to settle for fifth. With no competition, Helen Goulding was first lady but this didn't stop her leaving Peter Du Val and Sam Goulding standing on the final climb to finish well ahead of the back markers.
