Chris Spence won the Jersey Cycling Association 50 mile Time Trial organised by Velosport Jersey in convincing style on Sunday, breaking the 2 hour barrier by a substantial margin, with his closest rival over 4 minutes behind. Finding a 50 mile course on Jersey which is reasonably flat for time trialling is not the easiest of tasks so the simple answer is to do the 25 mile course twice; tough work in temperatures already climbing into the 20's by 7.00 in the morning. Jim Garrett worked very hard but could not match Spence's speed, veteran Mike Harris finishing an impressive third overall. Junior Chris Seviour continued his domination of the youth standings beating many adult riders to take 12 th place, his team mate Robert Coutanche taking second junior and 16 th overall.
