A decisive breakaway on the second lap on the CCC Road Race Series at Hougue Bie determined the outcome of the race.

The break was lead by CCC Junior Robert Coutanche, who - in a display of exuberant youthful energy and increasingly impressive form - launched a solo attack on the rise up to Ransom's. James Amy joined him at the top of the climb, with Ali Cann bridging the gap to the two leaders later on during the second lap.

Velo Sport riders failed to launch an attack from the following bunch to reduce the gap which enabled the lead group of three Caesarean riders to develop a commanding advantage which they sustained and increased throughout the remainder of the race. In the sprint for the line, experience won over youth, with the top two places going to seniors Ali Cann and James Amy, with Coutanche having to settle for third in an impressive ride.

Adam Wojtkiewicz took the bunch sprint to clinch fourth from vets Kevin Pilley and Mike Harris.
