The Jersey Cycling Association 2011

The Jersey Cycling Association (JCA) is the representative body of cycle racing in Jersey. This is the body that sets the selection criteria, and teams, for the Island Games and the Commonwealth Games. It is made up of a secretary, a treasurer, two delegates from eligible member bodies in the Island with the president and vice-president rotating between member bodies on a two-year term of office. Currently Velo Sport Jersey and the Caesarean Cycling Club are the only members. The Ocean Tide Racing Team joined in September 2009 but failed to complete the membership requirements before being disbanded as a cycling club in 2010.

The Education, Sport and Culture Committee, the government department responsible for sport, do not deal with individual sporting clubs within the Island. All sporting matters are dealt with through representative bodies who are elected to represent their respective sports. The JCA performs this role.

The Committee elected at the AGM on 20 October 2010 is as follows.

President: Alistair Cann
Vice-President: Martin Hebdon
Secretary: Simon Fenton
Treasurer: Jemima Leach

Two CCC and two VSJ delegates

A note on the wearing of club kit (taken from the JCA Race Entry form, 2mar11):
"The wearing of your club’s kit is mandatory in JCA Road and Track Events. Riders not wearing their club kit at these events will be refused entry. In addition to the current kit of your club, it is acceptable to wear previous versions of your club kit. In JCA time trials, riders must wear either their club kit or a plain kit with no trade or commercial markings. Helmets must be worn in all events."
