Travel Arrangements:

Whilst travel arrangements for the Jersey team have yet to be finalised by the Jersey Island Games Association, it is likely that all competitors will be leaving the island on Wednesday 27 th June and return back to Jersey by Sunday 8 th July

Cycling Team:

The team will be made up of a maximum of:-

     5 for the men's road team

     2 for the women's road team

     3 for the men's MTB team

Selection Process:

Those riders wishing to be considered for selection for the 2007 Island Games are asked to confirm so by e-mail or in writing to the JCA secretary, Alistair Cann [alistaircann@jerseymail.co.uk] by no later than the 2 nd October 2006. With their note, riders should include their home address, date of birth and contact phone number(s).

The cycling team will be selected during the spring of 2007 at the full discretion of the JCA committee who will take into consideration both racing form shown in early 2007 along with results achieved and form shown during 2006 and past years.

Once the Jersey team travel dates have been confirmed, all those that have submitted their name for selection will be asked to confirm that they have agreed leave from work, if applicable, for the relevant travel dates

Costs:

The cost per competitor have not yet been finalised by the Jersey Island Games Association but are most likely to be around £1,000 per person. This amount will be payable by the rider less any contribution their cycling club may agree to make. It should be noted that in previous years both the CCC and VSJ have agreed to fully pay this amount for their club members but that decision is at the discretion of each club.

Upon selection for the 2007 Island Games team each rider will be required to pay the sum of £100 to the JCA which will be used to cover administration costs plus the cost of new JCA cycle clothing which will be retained by the riders after the games have finished
