While those of us in Jersey were fighting the cold winds during the Easter Stage Race, Chris Spence was in California riding the 35+ race for riders holding a Pro,1,2,3 license. These masters races can often be faster than the normal Pro,1,2 race with most of them being ex pros. So from the off he could see that sure enough the pace was straight up to 30mph, once settled the usual attacks kept going with teams brininging them back. Chris got into several moves but never got far until with 10 laps to go a break was forced and that was it they'd broken the elastic. He worked as hard as he could at keeping the break away and ended up coming fourth which was a great result.
It must be nice riding and racing in the sun shine of california.
