Categories and Honours for JCA & Inter-Insular Events 2012:

For 2012, Jersey Cycling (JCA) has agreed that the following age categories are applicable for JCA events and the the Inter-Insular races:

Junior: Under 18 years
Senior: 18 - 39 years
Veteran: 40 - 49 years
Super Veteran: 50 years +

Road Race Categorisation:

In line with British Cycling rules (which the JCA has adopted for this purpose), a rider qualifies as a Veteran on 1st January of the year in which they turn 40 years old. Example: A rider who's 40th birthday falls on 30th December 2012, will be a Veteran for the entire 2012 season despite being 39 years old for the whole season.

The same applies for riders turning senior or Super Veteran.

Time Trial Categorisation:

In line with CTT rules (which the JCA has adopted for this purpose), a rider qualifies as a Veteran on the date he or she becomes 40 years old i.e. the age of the rider on the day of the event. The same applies for riders turning Senior or Super Veteran.

Lady Veteran Category:

For the Inter-Insular road race and time trial, a Lady Veteran category will exist.
Honours:

There will not be any overall trophy/shield or medals. Each category (Junior, Senior, Lady, Veteran and Super Veteran) will have a Victory Shield/Trophy, silver medal and bronze medal.

Note ** For road racing in JCA events, a rider may elect to compete in a category below or above his/her category but WILL NOT be eligible for the respective trophy/medals
