Guidelines

General for all Road races in Jersey
Please read carefully the following as it contains important information about race safety and standards expected of you and actions that may result in disqualification. By entering the event you acknowledge that you have read the race guidelines in full and agree to be bound by its contents.

Entry to most 2026 races is now open and we are using  Sportmember  Tickets for this, but entries can be done on the line, again we will request you enter via SportMember, and will can assist.

All riders on the marshals list will be issued a new number which they will keep for the remainder of the season.

Most races on the calendar will have public toilets at HQ or in close proximity with just a short ride on the bike to get there. The courses that do not have toilets nearby, where possible a portable toilet will be at HQ.

  • General event itinerary,
Marshals briefing 20 minutes before the start of the race. Bibs, flags and signage will be handed out at this time.
  • Riders briefing 5 minutes before the start of the race when riders are on the line. If any major problems or decisions on weather conditions etc need to be made,a briefing will be held with everyone present 15 minutes before the race starts.A last minute course inspection will have been carried out either on the day of the race or the day before and if any problems resulting from this it will passed to official’s and riders.
  • Race results will in most cases go out within a few hours of the finish but hopefully no longer than 24 hours .

The main things for all riders to remember are:-
  • We ride on open roads with oncoming traffic and riders must comply with the road traffic laws and the Jersey Highway Code. Anyone seen by marshals or reported by members of the public to be riding dangerously may be disqualified by the race organiser.
  • Please be aware of horses and slow moving vehicles as well as people on bikes who are not racing and pedestrians.
  • Rider behaviour is critical in protecting the future of Jersey Cycle racing. Having to go to Parish inquiries is not a nice experience as well as the threat of not being able to have races in their parish.
  • Bad language will not be tolerated and it helps nobody if used towards the public, officials or fellow riders and could lead to disqualification or further punishment for persistent offenders.
  • Dropping litter is unacceptable and again could lead to disqualification.
  • Numbers must always be clearly visible and if possible pinned slightly to the left on the lower back. Those in race or skin suits in the left hand pocket.
  • Cars, bikes and equipment, The race organiser will not be held responsible for damage to equipment caused during the event or equipment left behind at event HQ or cars parked at event HQ.
  • The CCC have public liability insurance in respect of events they organise but this insurance does not extend to claims from one competitor to another. Riders are strongly encouraged to have your own insurance via  British Cycling membership..
  • Our events are not run under British Cycling rules or any other governing body.
  • The CCC may use cameras to record riders finishing places and for promotional purposes, facebook pages etc.
  • To the extent permitted by law, the Caesarean Cycling Club organisers, marshals and members accept no responsibility or liability for injury caused to,or by, competitors during events,or damage to equipment during the event or equipment left at HQ as well as cars parked at HQ.
  • Competitors are responsible for their own safety and that of other competitors and road users and pedestrians.

This is a general race guideline that covers all the races for the whole season but we will do a brief race guideline for each event showing a map of the course, race distances, amount of laps , race format, etc will be on the entry sign-up screen.
