Tom had a solid block of racing across three events in Brittany, showing good form and consistent results.
The Pleven Crit (Open 1/2/3) was the third round of the Trophée Cycliste Dinan, raced on a tough, selective 65km circuit. A large break went early, and Tom rode well in the bunch, staying near the front over the final climb to finish 21st.
In Ruca (Open 2/3, 83km), an early move got clear. Tom spent much of the race trying to bridge but couldn’t make it across. He kept pushing and finished strongly, winning the bunch sprint for 14th.
The Coesmes Elite GP (135km) was aggressive from the start on a tough, rolling course, mostly on narrow and broken farm roads. After nearly an hour of attacks, the break finally stuck, with Tom making it into the move. After 45km out front, the group was caught. He continued to attack in an effort to split the race and get away again but missed the decisive move. In the closing stages, he fought against teams trying to control the bunch for the finish and secured the bunch sprint for 23rd.
A good few days of racing with strong efforts and promising signs as he now builds for the Island Games.
