Four Jersey cyclists race for French team in Brittany

Caesarean Cycle Club (CCC) is delighted to announce a new partnership that will allow four Jersey cyclists to race among some of the best up and coming riders in France. Training and racing with CC Plancoet, Jack Rebours (27), Tom Huelin (18), Bruno Zunino (18) and Jay Cracknell (21) will have the opportunity to race on closed roads and progress in amateur competitions in Brittany.

The region has a long history of developing young riders from all over the world who come to train and race in Brittany due to the quantity and quality of the races held every year, and all four riders will be racing this weekend (23 and 24 March) at Megrit and La Bouëxière.

For 2024 CC Plancoet are also welcoming riders from Canada and Eritrea and there are numerous amateur cycle teams, giving riders with talent the opportunity to gain experience. Previous CCP riders have raced in the Tour de France, including Alexis Renard who is currently racing with pro team Cofidis.

Christophe Rebillard, CCP President, said: “It’s a great pleasure that CC Plancoet to once again welcome British cyclists from Jersey, as we did with impressive results in the 1990’s with Lynn Minchinton.”

Lynn Minchinton as a CCC member raced for CC Plancoet winning the Sprint, 500m TT, and Points race UCI Masters World Track championship in 1998, as well Challenge Reginale de Bretagne France Track Champion in 1996.

As well as sponsoring young club members, CCC have created opportunities for other club members to race in Brittany in CCC colours, and at the same weekend seven CCC riders will be racing in other divisions.

Colin Vidler, CCC Club Secretary, added: “We are incredibly excited to join forces with CC Plancoet to enable members to race in Brittany for an established racing club that has already produced numerous winners.”

Sean Le Breuilly, CCC President, commented: "On behalf of the Caesarean Cycling Club, I would like to convey our thanks to CC Plancoet President Christophe Rebillard for allowing the CCC riders riding for CCP the opportunity to develop to themselves into top riders”
